چکیده

Post-operative respiratory depression is common in patients recovering from anesthesia and can result fatal cardiopulmonary collapse, anoxic brain injury, mortality. We report a case of 54-year-old morbidly obese female patient who developed transient hypoxemia after general anesthesia. The with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) underwent breast excision surgery. At the end surgery, her muscle function was fully restored using sugammadex. However, post-anesthesia care unit. clinician should keep mind that OSA are likely to develop due residual sedative effects airway obstruction despite recovery

Selective reversal of muscle relaxation in general anesthesia: focus on sugammadex

Despite the significant improvements in the pharmacology of muscle relaxants in the past six decades, the search for the ideal muscle relaxant continues, mainly because of the incomplete efficacy and persistent side effects associated with their antagonism. Clinical concerns remain about the residual paralysis and hemodynamic side effects associated with the classic pharmacologic reversal agent...

The practitioner should take extreme care, as bilateral vocal cord paralysis can obstruct the airway and lead to disastrous respiratory problems. There have been many papers on bilateral vocal cord paralysis after neck surgery, but reports on such a condition after lung surgery are very ...
